Sea Turtles Life Cycle by Rachel

The life of the sea turtle

Sea turtles are one of the most incredible species I know because of their life cycle.

First the female sea turtle lays over 1000 eggs in a breeding season and covers them up with sand.

Second 800 eggs hatch but 20% does not hatch. Then they make their way to the sea. Only 400 get there because of crabs that attack them, birds that want a meal and rubbish on the beach.

20 and make it to teenage years and get to breeding age.

Thirdly, 2% survive to breeding age.

This is why Sea Turtles are so incredible.
