Why we should STOP Poaching Elephants

Yes, it is illegal to shoot elephants but do you really think that everyone in the world follows that rule? Well, if you thought so you were wrong. I bet that one of the questions you are thinking in your head is how many elephants are killed a day? Well the answer is 100 elephants are killed a day! And most are mainly just killed for their tusks and then there bodies are just left there to rot. Curel right? Want to hear more? Then here are the three main reasons why we should all stop poaching elephants.
One of the main reasons is that we want these graceful creatures to be around for the next generation of children to enjoy, and the next generation would be our kids! Do you really want elephants completely out of this world, never to be seen again in real life? Because at this rate, that's what's going to happen. So what can you do to stop it? You can go on to this website called “ Crisis “, where you can donate some money and it will go to helping elephant population.
My second reason is because these magnificent creatures are a benefit to the ecosystem and animals in it. They do this by eating old overgrowth and this helps by letting the plants that they ate grow more and so the things that they grow is nice and fresh and makes the place that they live in look nice and tidy. They also benefit the animals around their habitat by walking. Yes, I know it sounds silly, but, when they walk, these animals are really heavy and so when they walk they leave little dents in the ground and then when it rains in their habitat their footprints are like little bowls of water for other smaller animals like gazelles.
Elephants share the same emotions and behaviour as humans. They mourn for their lost loved ones, they feel emotions and they are really intelligent. They can feel happy when they find water and food, they feel sad and almost depressed when they lose a friend or a family member and they are also really intelligent and they set and follow rules that they set in their herd. In fact they feel more strongly about their family then we do! Elephants have such strong bonds with the other elephants in their herd that when one dies or is killed, the other elephants can mourn for up to a week! So do you really want to ruin the incredible bonds these creatures have?
In conclusion you should save elephants because they benefit the ecosystem and the animals that live in it. They are also almost extinct and they have such incredible bonds with each other. We think that these elegant creatures need us, but in the real world, actually we need them. For looking after the animals and their habitat and a number of other reasons. So think about it, do you want elephants to become EXTINCT?
