Digestive System By Fin

THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM BY FIN

INTRODUCTION
The digestive system is a very interesting system to learn about.

PARTS
There are lots of parts in the digestive system. First there are the small and large intestines, then the stomach, liver, esophagus, mouth and glands.

FUNCTION
The way the digestive system works is that first the food goes in your mouth. The food gets covered in saliva and is crushed by your tongue and teeth. Then it goes down your esophagus and then it goes into your stomach. Next, the food gets smashed around then it goes into your intestines. The nutrients go into your blood, then the waste goes out your bottom.

WHAT CAN GO WRONG?
There are some things that can go wrong like you could get sick. You could get food poisoning or you could get constipated.

CONCLUSION
If you didn't have your digestive system you would die, so take good care of it.

Be Your Wild Self - Liv - Liofeneletingoabtortolemur

Have you ever heard of the Liofeneleringopabtortolemur? Well if you haven’t you have been living under a rock for some time. These creatures are very rare, there are only two left in the world. The Liofeneleringoabtortolemur is an Arthropod and a Carnivore.
Appearance
The Liofeneleringopabtortolemur has a beauitful lion mane to attract other mates. Then its ears are pointy fennec fox ears, these ears help them hear better and help them get rid of extra body heat. Their terrific trunk has millions of muscles in it, more than muscles than three humans together. The hairy big fat crab legs trap particles and sediments. The hair acts like camouflage allowing them to blend into the ocean floor. There is huge radiated tortoise shell shaped like a dome on its back. Scientist think that the shell helps them flip over when they are on their backs. The giraffe hooves are very tough and big, they can grow as big as a dinner plate. They are so strong the can take out a lion in one hit. Finally the ring-tailed lemur tail stinks like a big fart! They use the tail as defence.
Habitat
This awesome creature lives down under in the murky, dim caves. In every cave there is a way to the open, beautiful sea. We call this caves ‘Hollow Dens’. You may find one of these amazing creatures making its own Hollow Den. They do this by going back of the shell first into the ground with its crab legs helping pushing it down.
Behaviour
Liofeneleringoabtortolemur is at the top of the food chain, They are the predators because they hunt other animals. The Liofeneleringoabtortolemur of course has a purpose and that is to get rid of any terrible creatures but no one knows what are the other bad creatures there are because the magnificents Liofeneleringoabtortolemur get rid or them. The Liofeneleringoabtortolemur sleeps in the day and hunts in the night for those bad creatures. Did you know when this creature sleeps its eyes glow bright aquamarine. The position it sleeps in is a handstand position with its giraffe legs on the ground.
In conclusion the Liofeneleringoabtortolemur is quite a strange creature. The two males that are left are very important to us because they help save the world to protect us humans.

The Rein - rab - conda - gib - elly - fly - peacock
Introduction
Hey you, have you ever heard of the Rein - rab - conda - gib - elly - fly - peacock? Well, if you haven’t it’s a mammal. And it has only just been discovered deep in the jungle. Sound interesting? Would you like to find out more? If you do, read this report to find out more.
Appearance
The Rein - rab - conda - gib - elly - fly - peacock has these amazing, huge big butterfly wings on its back that makes it flutter just above the ground. Its Domestic Rabbit ears listen out for hungry predators. It has these big Reindeer antlers that drop off every year and then they grow back the next. Its Anaconda Snake tongue lets it “taste” the air by flicking its tongue out and then bringing it back to the grooves on the top of its tongue allowing it to “taste” the air. Its huge Gibbon arms allow it to swing from tree to tree. The lion’s mane jelly is its weapon one drop of its poison and it burns a hole straight you. Last of all its Peacock male tail feathers is beautiful but to predators it is quite scary because when threatened it flutters it out. Each of the feathers looks like it has an eye on it so it would look like you had hundred eyes staring down at you.
Habitat
The Rein - rab - conda - gib - elly - fly - peacock lives in the more moist part of the rain forest. Its home is sort of like a tree house, because it’s a little a little pile of leaves in the centre of any tree with sticks for the roof and wall.
Behaviour
The Rein - rab - conda - gib - elly - fly - peacock is a herbivore. That means that it only likes to eat plants and it won’t eat meat. So… it is kind of like a vegetarian. Why the government should give more things to children without homes and children that live in poverty.

Why the government should give more things to children without homes and children that live in poverty.

Imagine yourself as a 5 year old child, all alone on the street surrounded by thousands of people that you don't know and  with no one to turn to. What kind of help do you think you would need?  Food? Water? Shelter? Money? Schooling? Love?

Poverty:
Living in poverty can mean homelessness. It can mean not having access to healthy food like fruits and vegetables, going to school hungry and in bare feet or worn-out shoes, coming home to a cold damp house, having to sleep in a shared bed, or even on the cold hard ground on the street. It can mean missing out on activities that other New Zealanders get to enjoy like learning a musical instrument or playing sport, or even having a birthday party.

No-one but a complete idiot would think that children should not have a home and should live on the streets. Did you know that 1 in 30 New Zealand children experience homelessness at some point in the childhood.  Did you also know that more than 6,197 children live homeless without their family. They live with or without their families in shelters, cars and abandoned buildings. I feel that everyone should be able to go home to somewhere pleasant and comfortable and not to an old abandoned building or the side of the street.

I strongly believe that a child should have a home because they are still children just like you and me. Some children don't even get to go to school because they can't afford to. Did you know that 75% of all homeless children perform a below grade level in reading. I wonder what their maths and writing scores would be too without being able to go to school…?

Many homeless children don't get to go to the doctor when they are sick because they can't afford the cost of travel or medicine. It can mean doing badly at school because they are sick and can't do much it can also mean not getting a good job and having poor health. Did you also know that homeless children get sick twice as often as other children? The reasons for this are pretty obvious - poor living standards and malnutrition.

So, what could we do to help?  Well you could donate money to websites like world vision, children's defence fund or even UNICEF New Zealand.you could even donate clothes, blankets, pillows, toys and anything that you don’t use anymore  to the salvation army.

Overall I strongly believe that everyone should take part and help children without a home because we're all just human. Children that are homeless don’t only suffer from not having a home they also suffer from abuse, neglect, and more. Remember this, you don't need a reason to help a person.

Jacks wild self

Build Your Wild Self

Have you ever seen an animal that has snapping arms, furry fur, big tusks, a shell and a tall like a snake? Well I have seen one, it is called Jack the Lio-fen-rusa-cra-torto-rattlesnake. So you better watch out because it is coming!

Jack has big snapping crab arms that can nip you up. He has fur around his head like a lion’s mane. This creature has big tusks and a big shell. He also has a huge tail like a snake.

Jack uses his ears to hear things far away. He uses his tail to whack things away if they are attacking. At night he uses his shell to sleep in.

This animal lives in Africa. He likes to stay under the shade and likes to play outside.

There is no other animal like this so treat it with respect. I hope you learnt something about the Lio-fen-rusa-cra-torto-rattlesnake. And remember... he’s coming!

Dragons Lair

Dear mum and dad,
Please let me keep the dragon I found nesting in the tree. He’s not that bad, in fact he would be rather useful. Plus I already named him Twinkle Toes🐲 . In fact if that's not good enough, i’ve got reasons.

Power Cuts equal no problem because he can produce light when he breaths fire (also good for roasting marshmallow) Twinkle Toes also is good around kids and loves to go on walks. And best of all Traffic on Friday is no problem at all because Twinkle Toes just races through all of it even on red lights.

From your loving daughter,
Ava

Two Bad Ants - Sugar Bowl Description - By Calla, Amber and Kaleb

Two Bad Ants - Sugar Bowl Description - By Calla, Amber and Kaleb

We’re in a massive hole with steep walls and billions of massive white shiny crystals. The crystals are twice size of us and they are like beacons blinding our little ant eyes. “Yum! They taste sooooooo good!” said one.

“I know, right?!” squealed the other. We started to gobble down the glamorous crystals. We were so super full that we fell fast asleep. Then all of a sudden we were awoken by a shiny silver tower falling down towards us. We were suddenly lifted up in mid air which felt like we were as high as a tree. Then we fell into a burning hot whirlpool.

Two bad Ants - Coffee Cup Description
By O’Shae, Nate and Liv

Our latest adventure concluded with us being thrown into a considerable tropical brown tsunami. The tsunami began to tilt with our heads bobbing up and down and with us whirling around. We were stranded. Drowning. A strange cave opened and soon enough we were heading towards the dark cave.

Once we entered the cave, the dusty liquid became calm and that gave us a chance to get to the shore as quick as possible. We tried to swim to shore but the current was still too strong and was pushing us back.

Finally we got back inland and saw that it had steep sides so we climbed out.
